Cruising Calero
Went on a wildflower walk with the youngins and the missus on Sunday in Calero County Park. Beautiful, tranquil, and just what the doctor ordered (Dr. J.S.Bursch, that is).

MBOFVG 2013: Growin' to Hell
I've never been a pot person, in any sense of the word, but I have to admit these glazed pots with mixed annuals do add a much needed splash of color to an otherwise drab yard.
The lavender, violas, petunias, and alyssum make a nice combination by the back door.
And no man could call himself a true gardener without at least a couple of cold frames to his name, so I built this thing, which I have dubbed a "greentent."

Just in Time for Halloween
This is the third black widow spider I've found on our property within the last month. The first one I spotted was crawling across the kitchen floor one evening. This one (below) had set up shop in the backyard next to an old brick barbeque.
